This has taken a very long time to type up simply because I am horrible at talking about myself. I have started thinking it would be better for you to know a little more about me before coming in. So here goes!
I graduated from Virginia School of Massage, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2009. There I learned multiple modalities which include, Sports massage, trigger Point Therapy, deep tissue massage, Shiatsu, as well as many others! After graduating, I continued to go to school only this time as a teaching assistant for the Anatomy and Pathology classes. While being a T.A., I started doing outcalls, going to clients homes to give massages. I enjoyed doing this but gas prices were getting out of hand and it was taking up much of my time going to and from clients homes. This lead me to Massage Envy in 2010 and getting certified in Hot Stone massage. While I enjoyed my time there, my wrist couldn’t hold up to the demands traditional deep tissue massage. The pain lead me to research alternative massage techniques. The one that fascinated me the most was Ashiatsu Oriental bar Massage! In February of 2011 I took my first class called Barefoot Basics. I was hooked! The modality utilizes my feet and body weight to deliver a more even pressure to my clients without the pain in my wrist. With the new found freedom for this technique I decided to go out on my own full time. To better serve my clients I ended up taking the advance training classes in Ashiatsu in August of 2011. Which included learning the two footed strokes among other fun tricks! That brings us to today, in a nut shell.
